SYLLABUS FOR 4 YEAR BS PROGRAM

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF SYLLABUS

The basic purpose of syllabus of the four-year BS program in International Relations (IR) is to enhance the academic and intellectual level of students and expose them to major trends shaping world affairs from conceptual, thematic and area studies' point of view. In the first three years of BS program, students will study basic and advanced courses of International Relations. In the fourth year of BS program, apart from studying five compulsory subjects, students will also have an option to study courses divided into conceptual and area studies. Following are the important aims and objectives of four year BS program in International Relations.

  1. To develop analytical and critical thinking among the students of International Relations.
  2. To provide basic knowledge about the emergence of International Relations as a field of study and to study the key historical, conceptual and theoretical dimensions which influence IR in the contemporary world.
  3. To discuss in depth different fields of IR with reference to various inter-disciplinary approaches.
  4. To enhance the level of students in research.
